From lakeside 1990s properties to newer luxury builds in Kinniburgh, Chestermere's drywall needs range from renovation and repair to Level 5 finish for custom homes. Lake proximity makes moisture-resistant board a relevant choice in more applications than typical Calgary suburbs.
Chestermere's proximity to the lake creates a moisture environment that's meaningfully different from dry-prairie Calgary. During summer, humidity near the lake runs higher — relevant for basement applications especially, where the combination of high-water-table soil and summer humidity increases the risk of moisture penetration into wall assemblies. We check for moisture before boarding any Chestermere basement, and we default to moisture-resistant board throughout rather than treating it as optional.
The Kinniburgh area has a large proportion of custom and semi-custom luxury builds where Level 5 finish is the appropriate standard — architecturally flat walls that hold up under indirect lighting, pot light wash, and high-sheen paint. These are the most demanding finish jobs we do. We confirm finish level in writing before starting, prime before final inspection, and inspect under raking light with portable work lights.
Rainbow Falls and Westmere homes from the 2000s–2010s are entering the basement development phase — homeowners finishing previously unfinished basements for rental income or home offices. These are standard moisture-resistant board jobs with Level 4 finish. Drive time from our Calgary base is 20–25 minutes via Highway 1. Written quotes within 24 hours.

A custom home builder in Kinniburgh needed Level 5 finish in the great room and primary bedroom — both rooms had extensive pot light layouts where any surface variation would be highlighted by the downward wash from the fixtures. Standard Level 4 would have been visible under this lighting arrangement.
We applied a full skim coat over the entire surface after Level 4, sanded to flat, and primed before inspection. The builder's site supervisor did a raking light walk-through with a portable 1,000W work light. No deficiencies. The builder has brought us back on two subsequent Kinniburgh builds.
